Metal–Organic Framework Supported Cobalt Catalysts for the Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane at Low Temperature
Zr-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been shown to be excellent catalyst supports in heterogeneous catalysis due to their exceptional stability. Additionally, their crystalline nature affords the opportunity for molecular level characterization of both the support and the catalytically active site, facilitating mechanistic investigations of the catalytic process. We describe herein the...
متن کاملNanostructured cobalt oxide clusters in mesoporous silica as efficient oxygen-evolving catalysts.
Light, inexpensive, effective: Nanostructured Co(3)O(4) clusters (see picture) in mesoporous silica are the first example of a nanometer-sized multielectron catalyst made of a first-row transition-metal oxide that evolves oxygen from water efficiently. The nanorod bundle structure of the catalyst results in a very large surface area, an important factor contributing to the high turnover frequency.
متن کاملHierarchical cobalt iron oxide nanoarrays as structured catalysts.
Large-scale arrays of hierarchical cobalt iron oxide nanowires with preferentially exposed reactive crystal planes have been fabricated for use as structured catalysts, which showed high catalytic activity and excellent cycling stability.
متن کاملStructure and Properties of Vanadium Oxide–Zirconia Catalysts for Propane Oxidative Dehydrogenation
The structure of vanadia species supported on zirconia depends on VOx surface density and on the temperature of catalyst oxidation pretreatments. X-ray diffraction and Raman and UV-visible spectroscopies show that supported VOx species form polyvanadate domains of increasing size and ultimately monolayers and clusters as vanadium surface density increases. Initial propene selectivities in oxida...
متن کاملKinetic Isotopic Effects in Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propaneon Vanadium Oxide Catalysts
Kinetic isotopic effects (KIEs) for oxidative dehydrogenation of propane were measured on 10 wt% V2O5/ZrO2. Normal KIEs were obtained using CH3CH2CH3 and CD3CD2CD3 as reactants for primary dehydrogenation (2.8) and combustion (1.9) of propane and for secondary combustion of propene (2.6), suggesting that in all cases C–H bond dissociation is a kinetically relevant step. CH3CH2CH3 and CH3CD2CH3 ...
